Weekly Encouragement from Pastor Tim
The end of Jeremiah and the beginning of a new sermon series
Dear KCBC family,
This Sunday, we will complete our 65th sermon on the book of Jeremiah. You’ll continue to receive newsletters every other week reviewing each chapter, but this Sunday will be the last sermon in the series from the pulpit.
So, besides Jeremiah having some really long chapters, what have we learned? I’ve learned a lot about how we can trust God no matter what. Even in the darkest days, God works to fulfill his good purposes. What have you learned? I’d love to hear from you.
In two weeks, I’m excited to start a new series with the book of 1 Corinthians. Some pretty serious topics are covered in 1 Corinthians—sexual immorality, abusing the Lord’s Supper, claims of spiritual authority, church discipline, etc.—but I think carefully unpacking each one will be worth the effort. I’m especially excited to put all of these controversial topics in the context of chapter 13, the love chapter. So what questions do you have about the book of 1 Corinthians? Maybe I can answer them when we get to that topic in our study.
For the gospel,
Pastor Tim
Potluck at the Park
We plan to host a potluck at Kittredge Park THIS Friday, July 8th, at 6 pm. It will be like a regular potluck but at the park! Afterward, we’ll play some lawn or other games you want to bring. See you there!
Pray Requests
Charlotte Samuelson’s husband died this week from covid complications. Please pray for her and her family to have peace and comfort knowing that he is with his Savior in heaven.
Bob Ruesch and his family continue to progress in recovering from covid. Barb and Shane are doing pretty well, but Bob’s symptoms, while less, are still lingering.
YouTube Livestreaming
If you cannot attend worship services in person, we continue to offer a Livestream option but with one change. Instead of using Facebook, we will be using YouTube’s services. We hope this platform will allow us to reach more people and provide a better overall experience for those who watch online. Here’s the new link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCru5UDhNF-dJN1BlWXU4gYg/live
Village Missions Spotlight
Duane & Holly Scheidemantle, Mazama, WA
The Methow Valley was originally populated with ranching families in the upper valley and orchard farmers in the lower. We are close to the Seattle area, and now our valley has become a popular tourist destination for all outdoor activities in summer and winter. As more people work from home, we’ve seen an increase in second homes and in new year-long residents.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for wisdom as we evaluate the best ways to develop relationships and meet needs in this rapidly changing community.
Please pray for our sons and their wives as they get established in their lives together.
