Dear KCBC family,
Aletha and I are taking some much-needed time off in Pagosa Springs this week. We haven’t been able to get away for a few years due to scheduling issues and Covid-19 regulations, so we are glad it’s finally worked out. We plan to be back Friday and worship with you all on Sunday.
Last week we were in Rapid City for a required VM conference which, as I mentioned Sunday, was excellent but not the same as a vacation. Since I was gone all week, there wasn’t time to prepare a sermon; so instead I shared some things I learned from the conference along with a video produced by Village Missions. Hopefully, you found the video encouraging and valuable.
This coming Sunday, I plan to talk about “Staying Balanced in Transition” and once again share a video from Village Missions since I still haven’t had time to devote to sermon preparation while on vacation. There aren’t any significant transitions that are upcoming at KCBC, but we are all experiencing changes, whether they be health changes, job changes, or family changes. So I think the video will be very valuable for us all.
In two more Sundays, the plan is to resume our regular series through the book of Jeremiah.
For the gospel,
Pastor Tim
Life’s Options Baby Bottle Drive
Please plan to return your bottles on Father’s Day. Here’s a video telling about the fundraiser if you missed it.
Pentecost
With all that’s been going on, we neglected to emphasize Pentecost last week. Although it isn’t KCBC’s tradition to officially celebrate the day, we should have at least mentioned its significance. So here’s a short video about why the Day of Pentecost is important to the New Testament Church:
Church Potluck
June 19th, after worship, we’re going to have a church potluck. Please bring a main dish, dessert, or salad, to share.
Kittredge Cleanup
Join us Saturday, June 11th at 2 pm to help us clean up our community. Bring rakes, gloves, and other miscellaneous garden tools that you have available. After the cleanup, join the Kittredge bbq potluck at 5 pm. Bring something to share (i.e., salad, drinks, etc.) Burgers & hot dogs will be provided. We will meet at the Kittredge Community Building, 26499 Mowbray Ct.
Rental Needed
Sue and her husband have been sharing a home with a couple who owns a home in Evergreen, and now the homeowners are selling. They are looking for the same setup—a homeowner with a home that has a second living area and needs or would like to make some extra money “without having to leave home.” Sue’s husband owns Evergreen Signs but with the high rent he has to pay for his business, they can’t afford to buy in the area and a stand-alone rental for them would be tough. They are in their 50’s or 60’s—no pets, non-smokers, and no wild parties. The only thing he can’t tolerate is cats—he is allergic. They can contribute up to $1800 a month. Contact Pastor Tim or Nan Smith for more information.

Chip & Laura Farnsworth, Moline, KS
Moline is located in the southeastern Flint Hills of Kansas. Our town is known for the oldest swinging bridge in Kansas; it was on the Cherokee Trail from Arkansas to the West Coast. Many families struggle financially: 55% of the children in Moline live below the poverty line.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Pray for our children’s ministries here. Praise the Lord that our Kids for Christ program resumed on March 2nd, and 10 children came.
Pray for our Vacation Bible School held May 31st – June 4th. Our daughter, Kristy, will come to help us with it.
Pray for our oldest daughter, Molly, as she will get married on May 29th.
Pray for the young adults and families in our area to truly commit themselves to the Lord and the church.
